So I was lucky enough to see the Chandler Egan HH when it visited my
house with Butterfly and was wondering who is he? It is a great stamp
hope you all run across him some day! Carol - Leader of the Pack

Hello Carol,

Loved your Musical Series and visited the Thank You box just last week
you certainly do deserve to be thanked for all you have done for this
pastime. Chandler Egan was one of the top amateur golfers at the turn
of the century (How could you not know this ?)He is the third of a
group of golfing Hitchhikers (The Duffer & Bob Macdonald(another 100
year old golfer) being the first two.) My wife has said "Enough
already" and I have moved on to different subject matter. I'm
planning a couple series focused on the Illustrated Classics series
of children's books (carved the first in "The Time Machine" last
night .) I'm glad you liked the stamp. Hoping to see you on the 18th.

Carol,

picture in an old book I got from my dad. And I had to go back to the
book to get an answer for you.

Brian ~

I am married to a golfer who surely would have known the name Chandler Egan (I will quiz him when he gets home).  I actually carved a stamp in his (my husband's honor) last fall when he had to play "One More Round" sometime late in November - a bit chilly here in Maine!!  When the snow goes I will plant it somewhere along his home course.  Perhaps you will need to come to Maine for "One More Round" ~ the box AND the golf!

oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, (Brian is currently on the road in the snow,
I am Lori of green dragon). We plan an annual trip to Maine in May,
maybe we will take an extra day to check it out. I'm sure Brian will
be pleased. Thanks. Stay warm and see you at Moose Hill!

Lori :)
